Filler or Botox? The Differences and Which Suits You

The two are often confused but do different things. We explain the difference between Botox and filler and when each is right.

Filler or Botox? The Differences and Which Suits You

Botox and filler are the first two treatments that come to mind when we say aesthetics. Although often confused, they serve completely different purposes. The right choice depends on what your face needs.

What does Botox do?

Botox rests the muscles. It is effective on dynamic wrinkles formed by expression — on the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes. In short, it softens lines that appear with movement.

What does filler do?

Filler adds volume. It restores fullness lost over time; used in the cheekbones, jawline, lips and deep lines. It works on volume and contour, not muscle.

What is the main difference?

In short: Botox softens movement, filler adds volume. Botox is considered for ‘active lines,’ filler for ‘hollowed or thinned areas.’

Which one is right for me?

This depends on a face analysis. In some people the two are used together in a balanced plan. The right decision is made together after your expectations and facial structure are assessed at the first consultation.

Let’s talk through your question together.
